DRX9000 Reviews by Top Radiologist

As far as DRX9000 reviews on spinal decompression therapy go, this is a pretty good one. It’s by radiologist, Terry Yochum, who along with Lindsay J. Rowe of Australia, authored the radiology textbook Essentials of Skeletal Radiology. 3rd ed. He’s been around a while and seen a fair share of herniated disc treatments up close and personal on MRI.

As a back surgery alternative, DRX9000 spinal decompression can be an effective treatment for herniated discs, as you saw in the video. It can also be an option for the treatment of spinal stenosis in some cases. Non-surgical spinal decompression becomes more appropriate if conservative physical therapies such as stretching, strengthening, chiropractic and core stabilization exercises are not providing sufficient back pain relief. More DRX9000 reviews to come.

Colorado Sports Chiropractor

colorado sports chiropractor of the yearBeing a Colorado sports chiropractor is the best. It’s a year-round affair.

Colorado is perpetually regarded as one of the healthiest states in the union. One of the biggest reasons, I believe, is due to the high participatory level of outdoor activities and sports. (Which is why I chose to make Colorado my home)

A few years ago I was given the honor of being Colorado’s Sports Chiropractor of the Year by the Colorado Chiropractic Association and CEPA’s (The chiropractic association for the Care of Elite and Professional Athlete’s) National Chiropractor of the Year. (blush, blush)

sports-chiropractor-photo-spallone-montanaBecause it’s just what I do, I understand it.

But you may not even be aware that a sports chiropractor can play an important role in the management and treatment of not only your injuries but your ability to perform and excel in your sport- whether it’s on a team or for you individually.

Here are some of the top athletes in the world explaining why they include chiropractic care in their sports medicine routine.

In the video below, you’ll see my good friend and sports chiropractic mentor Nick Athens taking care of the San Francisco 49ers. (This is where I worked before moving my sports injury clinic to Colorado) Above is Joe Montana after his treatment form me here in Denver at Mile High Stadium.

Chiropractic Sports Injury Clinic- How Long Should You Ice?

Sports-injury-clinicDO NOT LEAVE ICE ON TOO LONG after an injury!

Listen to this story…

Researchers at the Dept. of Accident and Emergency Medicine at Southern General Hospital in Glasgow and Accident and Emergency Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock, Scotland, made news of a case of a P.E. teacher who used a bag of frozen potatoes to get rid of pain in her foot. She let the bag sit on her foot for at least 40 minutes and the pain actually went away… temporarily! The report says the foot became discolored and the pain returned- with a vengeance. The woman lost feeling in a few of her toes. She was diagnosed with frostbite, then underwent surgery to treat the permanent nerve damage in two of her toes.

Maybe you’ve heard that after an acute injury, it’s best to ice the area for at least 20 minutes at a time. Maybe you did it for the same reasons as her.  It’s possible you’ve also heard that icing reduces inflammation.

It can.

But do you know why?

Don’t take my word for it, let’s  investigate the “20 minutes concept.” I want you to do a little experiment.

Denver Chiropractor Agrees with Harvard Researchers: Chiropractic “Highly Cost-Effective” Versus MD Treatment for Low Back Pain and Neck Pain

As a chiropractor in Denver for over a decade, I’ve tried maintain my finger on the pulse of the local natural health community. The current economy has caused us all to become more frugal. Accordingly, I ran across an interesting study that looks at the cost-effectiveness of chiropractic care vs. medical care for the treatment of low back pain and neck pain.

The study was headed up by Harvard’s Niteesh Choudhry, MD, PhD and Pacific Business Group on Health medical director Arnold Milstein, MD, MPH. and attempts to shed light on the take on the often asked question: Are the covered services of chiropractors more effective and cost-effective than those of medical doctors?

The answers were mixed but with a very strong tilt in the direction of chiropractic, especially if the cost of drugs are factored in. The Harvard researchers opened their report with an eye-opening statement revealing just how big this problem is- “Low back pain and neck pain are extremely common conditions that consume large amounts of health care resources. ” 26% of the population has low back pain and 14% have neck pain in a given 3 month period. Half of us with chronic low back seek chiropractic care and  $85 billion a year is spent on low back pain alone.

It was noted in the article that in terms of effectiveness, chiropractic is more effective than other modalities for treating low back and neck pain. I know there are Colorado chiropractors that remember a study by the government in Canada on a similar but grander scale, entitled “The Manga Report.” In agreement of the Harvard study, the Canadian study showed that there is “an overwhelming body of evidence indicating that chiropractic management of low back pain is more cost-effective than medical management.”

The in depth investigation reviewed numerous studies that range from very persuasive to convincing in support of this conclusion. Landmark observations were made and Dr. Manga, PhD. stated, “a very good case can be made for making chiropractors the gatekeepers for management of low-back pain in the workers’ compensation system in Ontario.” It would seem appropriate that chiropractors in Colorado could make a difference in the economical and social impact of low back and neck pain treatment.

Pain Relief Advice for an Overworked Denver Mom

Who wouldn’t want quick pain relief?

Sometimes pain relief can come in different forms.

I had a conversation lately that I think might be of help when you’ve put too much on your plate and you’re in pain.

Here’s the gist of the way the conversation went…

A mother of 3 young children had issues with intense upper back and neck pain, headaches and fatigue. She just plain felt that she was in her words, ‘getting old fast.’

Being pregnant, giving birth and all the post-partum duties of being a mom are very physically demanding. The adaptations and demands on the body during and after pregnancy can create changes which can lead to pain.

In this case it effected her not just physically, but hormonally and biochemically. Now throw on top of that a few other big life changes personally and professionally and you have a recipe for pain. The biggest point I helped her understand was this…

Best Chiropractor in Denver…

If your question is, “Who is the ‘Best Chiropractor in Denver?’ The answer is only important if that person is the best chiropractor for you.

There are no ‘Chiropractic Olympics.’

Because I’ve had the privilege of treating some very high profile people, I’ve had my name put in that ‘best chiropractor in Colorado’ category. But let me set the record straight…health care is not a sport and its definitely not about the provider.

I practice chiropractic but more importantly I utilize my classification as a Complimentary and Alternative Medicine practitioner (C.A.M.) to help people who are looking for the best natural approach to having less pain and a better life.

Sometimes the most important thing about being the best chiropractor for you is to recognize where my limitations may be and to steer you in the right direction- even if that direction is away from the ‘best chiropractor.’

This site has 3 main purposes and they’re all far more reaching than just striving to be the best chiropractor in Denver.

I’ll pour my heart and my head into delivering valuable information on this website. Here’s what this site is meant to do…
